Personality
Kazuko is quite playful and is a lot like a kitten. She doesn’t dislike humans like Kumiko does, but she still very much enjoys messing with them. She acts like terrorising humans is a huge game and a game she always wins at.
She is a bit sadistic with how she messes with humans by using them as puppets, laughing at their horrified faces and screams. It’s all fun and games for her, going from human to human, playing with them and making them do outrageous things. What fun!
Kazuko has the curiosity of a cat… as she is a cat. When she finds something she’s not familiar with, she wants to find out what it is, why it’s there and whether she can keep it or not. She has a collection of little oddities that she finds while she’s out during the night.
She is very affectionate with Kumiko. She considers Kumiko her very best friend and looks up to her as a big sister. She admires and even idolises the kitsune and even addresses her with the suffix “-sama”. She’s willing to do anything Kumiko wishes and is always excited to spend nights with her, terrorising humans together.

Powers and Abilities
Kazuko has typical nekomata abilities. Her best talent lies with her controlling of human bodies. While she can take control of corpses (typical of her kind), she prefers taking control of living people, as she loves to hear how horrified they get as they are aware of what their bodies are doing.
Back Story
As a normal cat, Kazuko belonged to a couple who took good care of her. She lived a relatively good life, and was quite content with it.
Her owners noticed that Kazuko, even though she was growing older, didn't seem to slow down. She was just as lively as she was when she was a much younger cat. They began to suspect something when Kazuko lived past 20 with no problems at all and her tail had grown rather long.
When Kazuko's tail began to split, her owners became fearful. They knew about bakeneko and that they haunted the households in which they lived. In the end, they made the decision to kill Kazuko.
Kazuko, having gained human intelligence over time, learnt of her owners' plans and ran for it. Her owners pursued her until they managed to corner her.
Before the worst could happen, Kauzko's owners screamed all of a sudden, before taking off. Confused, Kazuko looked around and found herself being approached by a kitsune. The kitsune introduced herself as Kumiko and promised to take care of Kazuko.
Kazuko and Kumiko have been best friends ever since.

Ongoing Story
Kazuko joins Kumiko in terrorising humans, but she's not as harmful as her. Kazuko likes to play "puppet" with her victims, controlling their bodies while they're still very much aware. She gains enjoyment from pretending humans are marionettes, but she'll never physically harm a person. She may put them in semi dangerous situations, scaring the hell out of them, but she'll never allow them to die.
Even though she doesn't approve of a lot of things Kumiko does, Kazuko still looks up the the kitsune and holds her in high regard, basically seeing her as an older sister. She's willing to do whatever Kumiko wants (though she does have limits). She doesn't mind that Kumiko can sometimes be demanding, she just likes to make the kitsune happy.
One of her favourite things to do is to spend peaceful nights with Kumiko, where they just hang out and chat.

Miscellaneous Information
♦ As mentioned, Kazuko doesn't hate humans as much as Kumiko. She just likes to mess with them. She doesn't hold a grudge against all humans because of what happened to her and she bares no ill will toward her former owners (who died long ago, of course).
♦ She likes to steal from humans, mostly little trinkets and things like that. ♦ She lives with Kumiko, but they aren’t always together. They’ll spend nights on their own without the other, but then they’ll get together and talk about their nights bringing misfortune to humans. ♦ Despite being a cat, she doesn’t like seafood all that much |
♦ She loves to eat human food whenever she can, but she still likes to go hunting with Kumiko. They’ve become used to eating cooked food, so they don’t tend to eat their kill raw.
♦ She’s very precious about her tail. While she’s usually rather scruffy, with her messy hair and tattered clothes, she likes to keep her tail well groomed. ♦ She has a little crush on Kumiko, but she doesn't approve of a lot of what the kitsune does (killing humans, the hundreds of one-night-stands). It's more of an "admiration crush", as she calls it. |
